Applicants who meet the listed requirements will be admitted to the examination. The examination must be completed within a period of two years. Applicants must successfully pass the comprehensive written examination based on the principles and practice of forensic toxicology.
An applicant may reapply for certification one time no earlier than 180 days after failing to pass the second examination. Individuals may not reapply for certification a third time without submitting a written request to the Board of Directors detailing how the individual has received additional documented training and who provided such training. The acceptance of a third application for certification rests solely with the Board of Directors whose decision in this process is final.
